(7th Dortmund University Festival)
"Thanks to Christoph Haberer (percussions), Michael Heupel (flute) and Carlo Rizzo (tambourine), the Festival saw a truly spectacular opening. The trio's exciting sound collages gave Jazz an entirely new face, with improvisations on the tambourine and the contrabass flute.."
Hessische Allgemeine, 25.01.2003
"However, as soon as the two rhythm experts create a hypnotising network of natural sounds, the flute delivers clear poetry, and the magnificent singer, Carlo Rizzo, presents the lyrics of an Italian folk song in a melancholic and oriental manner, the trio's music touches the soul of the audience: they marvel at the virtuosity and creativity of the artists and are deeply moved."
Rheinische Post, 17.09.2002
(Festival Burg Linn, Krefeld)
"dance-like and poetic, a little exotic, very witty and full of drive."
Westfälische Rundschau, 14.05.2001
"With his latest project, i.e. the trio with Michael Heupel (flute) and the Italian tambourine player, Carlo Rizzo, the percussionist (Christoph Haberer) took a dive into the multi-faceted world of poly-rhythms. The three musicians created a network of rhythms which often included Arab scales, enhanced by Haberer's electronic sound samples; the latter was obviously in control with his enormous drum set. Their music was filled with groove and offered much more than mere percussion it was truly fantastic to witness what a host of sounds Rizzo was able to create on his polytonal tambourine!"
Kölner Stadtanzeiger, 24.04.2001
"there was an exchange among them, they added sounds (vocals, electronics, reed flute), chose a simple topic in which they could get entangled, and which they could also abandon again. This mixture of concentration and clarity, of intensity and emotion makes this music live even in tricky moments."
